Carlo Nohra, the Chief Operating Officer of the Saudi Pro League, has made it easier for Thomas Muller to find employment in the Middle East next summer.

The bold and unrestrained transfer activity this summer by Saudi Pro League clubs proved their goals beyond a shadow of a doubt.

They were able to raise enormous sums of money to sign numerous high-profile athletes, like Ruben Neves, Sadio Mane, Riyad Mahrez, Karim Benzema, and Neymar, among many others.

Since Cristiano Ronaldo moved to Al-Nassr in early 2023, the Saudi Pro League has gained a lot of attention from prospective players.

Middle Eastern clubs don’t intend to quit anytime soon, if the Saudi Pro League COO, Carlo Nohra, is to be believed.

Speaking to German football journalist Philipp Kessler, Nohra opened the doors for Thomas Muller to potentially join the league next summer. He said:

“Thomas Müller to Saudi as a free agent in 2024? Why not? That would be my answer to you.”

He added

“There’s absolutely no reason why anyone is off the market, anyone that can add value and quality to the league would be welcome.”

The Bayern Munich contract of Thomas Muller is slated to expire in 2024.

Muller reportedly turned down a transfer to the Saudi Pro League earlier this summer, according to Bavarian Football Works. The legendary German forward will become a free agent after the current season because his current contract with Bayern Munich expires on June 30, 2024.

For the Bavarians, Muller, who turned 34 in September, is no longer a surefire starter. He has only actually started three games for Thomas Tuchel’s team this season, across all competitions. Muller, who plays a little role for them but is nonetheless productive, has already contributed three assists this year.

At this point in his career, it is unclear if Bayern Munich will offer him a new contract; therefore, the club legend may want to look beyond the organization.

It will be intriguing to see how things turn out for Muller, a one-club player, as he allegedly prepares to start contract negotiations with Bayern in the coming months.
