Roshn Saudi Pro League 23/24 fixture released: New Action Packed Season Begins
The Saudi Pro League fixture for the 2023/24 homegrown season were announced, marking an achievement season for the Roshn Saudi League during a moment of significant development for football in the Kingdom.
The new season will build on a record-breaking 2022/23 season that saw more observers on match days, devotees, and prominent worldwide review figures than any time in recent memory, with action aired on 48 platforms and TV broadcasters in over 170 countries worldwide. [1]
The full Saudi Pro league fixture list has been released, with timings affirmed for the initial five rounds of matches.
The season kicks off on Friday, August 11, with recently advanced First Division winners Al Ahli poised to renew their rivalry with Al Hazem at the Ruler Abdullah Al Faisal Arena in Jeddah, after narrowly defeating the guests by four points last season.
The first round of the new season could provide football fans across the country with the first opportunity to see Al Ahli’s new huge name augmentations from the English Head Association, with Brazil forward Roberto Firmino marking from Liverpool and custodian Edouard Mendy joining Chelsea in the coming season.
On Monday, August 14, in a similar set of fixtures, reigning champions and city rivals Al-Ittihad will defend their Roshn Saudi League championship with a trip to Buraiydah to face Al Raed. Karim Benzema, the Ballon d’Or winner from Real Madrid, might make his debut at 6 p.m., with new arrivals N’Golo Kante from Chelsea and Jota from Scottish giants Celtic.
Al Hilal, who reached both the FIFA Club World Cup and the AFC Champions League finals last season, begin life under Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus with a trip to Abha around the same time, with a 6 p.m. kickoff. Al Hilal may also introduce three high-profile summer additions to Saudi football. In the previous season, Portuguese international midfielder Ruben Neves arrived from English Premier League club Wolves, Senegal defender Kalidou Koulibaly joined from Chelsea, and Serbia international Sergej Milinkovic-Savic joined from Lazio.

Other competitors, AlNassr, begin their season around the same time with a trip to Dammam to face Al Ettifaq at a later start time of 9 p.m. The Riyadh club, who signed Cristiano Ronaldo last season, has also strengthened for the coming season with the acquisition of Croatia international midfielder Marcelo Brozovic from Entomb Milan. Steven Gerrard, a former Liverpool and England player, now runs Al Ettifaq.
Other major dates in the new season include the Saudi ‘El Clasico’ for Jeddah, with champions Al-Ittihad assisting heavyweights Al Hilal in a mouthwatering clash at the Sovereign Abdullah Al Faisal arena in week five (Friday, September 1, 9 p.m.). On week 22, the few days of Walk 7-9, 2024, Al Hilal will assist the bosses at the Ruler Faisal Receptacle Fahad venue in Riyadh.
Al Hilal will also face another Jeddah opponent in week 11 (October 26-28, 2023), when they face Al Ahli at the Lord Fahad Global Arena, with the return match scheduled for week 28 (April 25-27, 2024).
They will also face city rivals Al Nassr in week 15 (November 30 – December 2, 2023), with the rematch scheduled for week 32, May 16-17.
The eagerly anticipated Al Ittihad v Al Nassr match, which might pit Benzema against former Real Madrid teammate Ronaldo, will take place on week 17, from December 14-16, at the Ruler Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah. The returned fixture could be crucial in determining the mission’s fate, with Al Nassr assisting Al Ittihad during the final game week of the period, on Monday, May 27, 2024.
