On Monday, Damac and Al Shabab came to an agreement over Senegalese forward Habib Diallo’s one-season loan in Saudi Pro League 2024-25. This action is in response to the unhappiness voiced by Damac’s management and coach Cosmin Contra with their present striker, Assan Ceesay, whom the team is trying to offload.

The team is hoping that soon Diallo will be the forward who thrills Damac supporters. In the forthcoming game against Al Hilal at Kingdom Arena, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Diallo and Florin Niță, the new goalie, are anticipated to play.

Diallo is keen on maintaining his place on the Senegal national team, where he is a vital player, and this seems to be the key motivator for him to sign with Damac. He didn’t want to think about sitting on the bench at Al Shabab because that would seriously hurt his chances of getting selected.

His prospects of continuing in the starting lineup could be compromised if he stays at Al Shabab as a replacement. The Riyadh-based team intends to replace Diallo with Dutch defender Wesley Hoedt in retaliation.
Al Shabab is apparently intending to register Dutch defender Wesley Hoedt as Diallo’s successor in order to expedite this transition even more. This represents an intriguing change in their strategic roster planning.
