At the King Abdul Aziz Stadium on Sunday, Al Nassr of the Saudi Pro League defeated Al Wehda with the help of goals from Alex Telles, Abdulelah Al-Amri, and Cristiano Ronaldo. It was another easy victory for Al Nassr.

Al Nassr remains in second place in the league standings with 31 points after the victory, four points behind leader Al Hilal.
Ronaldo served as the decoy, and Telles’ excellent free-kick gave Al Nassr the lead in the eleventh minute. The Brazilian gave Wehda goalkeeper Munir no chance as he wrapped his foot around the ball and tucked it into the bottom left corner.

In the 39th minute, just before halftime, the opposition scored their second goal. After working out a short corner, Marcel Brozovic found Alamri at the far post with an accurate cross that he pinged in inside the box. The center-back headed the ball inside the goal with ease as soon as it arrived.

Based on the applause the Portuguese player received each time he found the ball in the final third, Al Nassr had a sizable away fan base that was itching for a goal from Ronaldo. The supporters’ wish came true in the 50th minute when Ronaldo scored Al Nassr’s third goal by slotting the ball past Munir after Wehda’s confusion at the back allowed him to intercept Waleed Bakshween’s header and send it to his keeper.

When Talisca headed Telles’ cross inside the box in the 62nd minute, it appeared as though it had scored a fourth goal. Ronaldo’s strike was canceled by the referee because a VAR check revealed that he was offside when Telles crossed the ball. Despite this, the captain of Al Nassr was involved in the play and did not touch the ball.

Oscar Duarte’s assist allowed Wehda’s Anselmo to equalize with a header in the 81st minute, but there was no sign of a rally.
If Odion Ighalo had converted Saeed Al Mowalad’s cross, there might have been, but the Nigerian missed the mark at a close range.

In the final minute of second-half extra time, substitute Abdulrahman Ghareeb appeared to have completed a commanding performance for Al Nassr by scoring a fourth goal. However, a second VAR check that evening resulted in the away team’s second goal being canceled.
