Al-Ahli Saudi Football Club commonly known as Al-Ahli, is a Saudi professional football club based in Jeddah that competes in the Saudi Pro League.

In 1937, the club was established. Arguably one of the most prosperous teams in Saudi Arabia on a local level, Al-Ahli Club established the first football academy in Saudi Arabia and established the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Center for Youth and Juniors. Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal is considered the actual founder of the club and is distinguished by his development of the club in most of its various activities.

Al-Ahli is the record holder with 13 Kings Cups, 6 Crown Prince Cups, 1 General League Shield, and 1 Super Cup, in addition to their three Saudi Professional League victories. In international club football, they have won an unprecedented three GCC Champions Leagues and one Arab Club Championship. Twice, in 1978 and 2016, Al Ahli became the first Saudi team to win both the league and the King’s Cup in the same season.

Al-Ahli, one of the four founding members of the Saudi Pro League, has never experienced relegation from the top division. Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad, and Al-Nassr are the other three. Al-Ahli’s 51-match winning streak from 2014 to 2016 holds the record for the longest unbroken run in the league.

Al Ahli was the first Saudi club to win the league and the King’s Cup in the same season, and has done so twice – in 1978 and 2016.
